Welcome to the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra’s 25th Anniversary Season!
The twenty-five year mark is an incredible accomplishment for any nonprofit arts organization, and all of us at the ABO are extremely proud of this achievement. We are deeply grateful to the many musicians, artistic directors, board members, donors, volunteers, and audience members who helped us reach this milestone.
Oftentimes, an anniversary reflects on an organization’s formative years and past highlights. This year, however, I want to focus on ABO’s future! Thanks to the solid foundation we have built, we are in a position to expand and explore. Bigger projects, more collaborations, diverse venues, and a new outreach ensemble are coming to light this season.
We are all popping with excitement! In fact, “POP” was the heart of our theme this year. From popping a champagne cork (or cola bottle) to Pop Art design, this word evokes fun and celebration. We sprinkled in a bit of royalty for richness and tradition (inspired by England’s new sovereign), and voilà! Out popped a stream of concerts that we all await with bubbly anticipation.
I look forward to sharing this extraordinary season with you!
With oodles of effervescent enthusiasm,
Julie Andrijeski | ABO Artistic Director
The Atlanta Baroque Orchestra enjoys boundless generosity from the metro-Atlanta community. We appreciate the fiscal support from our patrons and donors, the wonderful contributions we receive from foundations, and the gracious gift of space in which to perform.
We extend a special thanks to Dale Adelmann and the Friends of Music for embracing the ABO as Artists-in-Residence at the Cathedral of St. Philip. Their generosity and welcoming spirit throughout our week-long rehearsal and concert residencies is invaluable.
