Gloria!

Vivaldi aficionados, now’s your chance to revisit old favorites and be introduced to what will surely become new ones! Antonio Vivaldi’s influence on the world of 18th-century music cannot be overestimated. His virtuosic, driving style, mixed with an inimitable lyricism, captured the hearts and minds of both his contemporaries and successors. Joining us for this program are our beloved choral collaborators, the St. Philip Cathedral Schola, directed by Dale Adelmann; Nathan Medley, one of America’s great countertenors, who recently moved to Atlanta; and virtuoso oboist and scholar Geoffrey Burgess. Join us on our musical journey through Vivaldi’s world, featuring two thrilling instrumental works, two poignant sacred works evoking the Lenten season, and, through Vivaldi’s famous Gloria, a glimpse of the joyous season to come!
