Boston Early Music Festival

From Julie Andrijeski, Artistic Director:

(This is my very first blog post!  Thanks to Wheat Williams and Taylor Rambo for making it easy and possible.)

I’m so excited to be part of the Boston Early Music Festival this week!  Handel’s opera, Almira opened last Sunday and tonight is performance number two.  The cast is wonderful, particularly Amanda Forsythe in the role of Edilia.  She is simply amazing!  Amanda will be appearing with the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra in our “pocket opera” version of Handel’s Xerxes this October.  Not to be missed!

The BEMF orchestra gives our own concert this Thursday at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall in Boston, led by my Quicksilver colleague, Robert Mealy.  Looking forward to “The Birth of the Orchestra” program on which we will play works by Handel, Lully, Corelli, and Erlebach.

Such great music!
